It sounds technical, but you encounter it more often than you think. Every time you pay with your card in a currency other than euros, a conversion happens automatically. This costs you € 206. Yet, at the end of the trip you take a look at your bank account and see that you paid € 210,12. A higher amount than you expected. The reason for this is the fx costs that are added to your total. Which is why you end up paying € 4,12 extra.</p><p>Fortunately, you don’t always have to pay these costs!</p><p>With an ING Student Credit card you do not pay FX fees on the first € 500 you spend per month.
