It sounds technical, but you encounter it more often than you think. Every time you pay with your card in a currency other than euros, a conversion happens automatically. We call this conversion FX.</p><p><strong>An example</strong><br />You’re on a city trip in London and you pay during your three day vist for your breakfast, lunch and diner. This costs you € 206. Yet, at the end of the trip you take a look at your bank account and see that you paid € 210,12. A higher amount than you expected. The reason for this is the fx costs that are added to your total.
