ING Bank N.V. manages the savings of all ING Green Savings Deposit. At least 70% of these savings is invested in projects approved by the government under the Green Projects Scheme, such as solar parks, energy‑neutral hotels and the greening of businesses. This scheme is implemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The remaining 30% is invested as sustainably as possible, but this portion may also include non‑sustainable projects.

The solar park will have an installed capacity of 50 megawatts peak (MWp). This is comparable to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 15,000 households. What makes this project impressive is its strong focus on ecology and landscape integration: wide, flower-filled field margins, beetle banks, and an open habitat for farmland birds create a combination of green energy and biodiversity. In this way, Zonnepark Zuidvelde not only contributes to climate goals and more green energy, but also to the quality of life and nature in the region. The project’s realization was made possible in part by an ING Green Loan. The solar park will begin supplying green electricity in early 2026.

Hotel Jakarta Amsterdam is an energy-neutral hotel with a beautiful subtropical courtyard garden. Hotel Jakarta is a spectacular building at the tip of Java Island, featuring transparent glass facades and a unique 30-meter-high wooden main support structure. Beams, columns, ceilings, and window frames are made of natural wood with FSC or PEFC certification.
In addition, they implement many energy-saving measures, such as collecting rainwater for watering the courtyard garden. Through panels in the facade and the roof of the atrium, the hotel captures solar energy and converts it into electricity to heat the shower water. The hotel’s own cooling and heating are provided by a thermal energy storage system. Even the staff’s uniforms have been considered—they, too, are sustainable. The financing was made possible in part by an ING Green Loan.

As Europe’s most sustainable and innovative wellness resort, they are implementing numerous measures to continuously improve sustainability. For example, they do not use gas, which is unique in the sauna industry. Thermen Berendonck aims to become energy-neutral in the long term. The 600 solar panels on the roof contribute to achieving this goal. The indoor and outdoor lighting uses LED bulbs and is activated by motion sensors.
They are also implementing water-saving measures. They capture the heat from the shower wastewater to heat other sources and pump their own spring water for showers, toilets, and baths. The financing was made possible in part by an ING Green Loan.
