With Round up & Save, you save as you pay. That's because every payment you make is rounded up, whether you pay with your debit card, Apple Pay, phone or iDEAL. You'll find the rounded-up amount in your savings account (Oranje Spaarrekening) the next day. You'll barely notice you're growing your piggy bank.
How it works
By default, we round up to the nearest €1. But you can also opt for a savings accelerator. Choose whether to round up to €1, €2, €5, or €10. You decide.
A standard example (rounding to €1):

Option 1: Activate 'Round Up & Save' via your current account

Go to ‘Settings’
Under ‘Useful links’, click on ‘Round up & Save’
Click on “Activate Round up & Save”
Turn on Round up & Save. Activate it with a single tap on the slider.

Want to make changes or turn off Round up & Save? It's easy. Select your Checking or Savings account in the app and select "Settings." There you can:

Turn off Round up & Save completely

Note: the interest on an ING Overdraft is significantly higher than the interest you receive on your savings account. Overdrafts will therefore cost you money. It's sometimes better to transfer the rounding amount back to your current account yourself. If you don't have an ING Overdraft and your account is empty, or you've reached your overdraft limit, we won't debit the rounding amount from your current account. Tip: Turn on push notifications in your app and set a limit of €0. That way, you'll know immediately when you're going into the red.
