ING cannot remove or modify a pre-authorisation. Your current account balance or the available credit on your credit card will already have been reduced by the pre-authorised amount so you know how much you have left to spend.</p>"}},{"componentType":"paragraph","title":"Debit card pre-authorisations","richBody":{"value":"<p>If you pay with your debit card, phone or smartwatch or withdraw cash from an ATM, you’ll see ‘pre-authorisation’ next to the amount in your ING app or My ING straight away. If you use a debit card, the pre-authorised amount will be deducted from your current account balance. The date of the pre-authorisation will be automatically updated to show the actual date that your account was debited (entry date). Any charges, such as a currency mark-up for payments in foreign currency and cash withdrawal fees will be added on that date.</p><p><strong>Longer pre-authorisations explained </strong></p><p>If a pre-authorisation lasts longer than four days, you’ll see the following message next to it: Most pre-authorisations are released into a charge to your account or expire within nine days. But sometimes your payment will remain ‘pre-authorised’ for longer, such as with a car rental or hotel booking. Your current account balance will already have been reduced by the pre-authorised amount. And good to know: ING cannot remove or modify pre-authorisations.  </p><p> </p>"}},{"componentType":"paragraph","title":"Pre-authorisations for payments in the ING app or My ING","richBody":{"value":"<p>When you transfer money in My ING or the ING app, that will be fully processed the same day. The date of the pre-authorisation will be automatically updated to show the entry date after your account is debited. A payment transaction is fully processed after it is entered in your account. This happens when a merchant, such as a hotel or car hire company, makes a pre-authorisation. You&apos;ll see ‘pre-authorisation’ next to the amount. The pre-authorisation reduces how much you can spend in that month. You can see your current available credit in My ING and the app.  </p><p>A pre-authorisation can be processed in part or in full. If a pre-authorisation is not released into a charge to your credit card, it will automatically expire after 21 days.  </p><p>If you have any questions about a pre-authorisation, please contact the company that pre-authorised the amount.
