Daily you can pay up to € 1.500 with your debit card; this is the default payment limit.

Are you planning to make a major purchase? You can temporarily increase your daily limit of your debit card to € 50.000. After changing the limit, you can immediately pay for your purchase.

Small purchases can be paid without having to enter your PIN. For payments above € 50 you will need to enter your PIN. Furthermore once you have made € 100 of contactless payments, you also need to enter your PIN.

Do you have a physical VPay or Maestro debit card?

Then you can pay up to €2,500 per day using your digital debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Garmin Pay. For young people aged 16 and 17, the limit is € 250 per day. You cannot change the limit of your digital debit card. The default limit of your physical debit card is € 1,500, but you can adjust it.

Want to pay more?
Take your physical debit card with you or ask if the amount can be transferred digitally. Make sure to check your payment limit or digital daily limit in advance, and adjust it if needed.

Do you have a physical card of Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard?

Then your standard debit card limit is € 1,500 per day. This limit applies collectively to both payments made with your physical (plastic) debit card and digital payments via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Garmin Pay. For young people, the standard debit card limit is € 250.

As account holder, you can adjust the debit card limit of your Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard yourself.

Daily you can withdraw up to € 500 from an ATM.

Do you need more cash? You can raise your daily limit to € 5.000 per day. Above € 1.000 you can do this maximum 3 days in a row.

After changing the limit you can directly withdraw your money.

Every credit card (Student Credit Card, Credit Card, Platinum Card) has a different maximum spending amount. Additionally the possibilities to increase your limit differ per credit card.

Did you know that you can transfer money from your Checking account to your credit card? By doing that you immediately increase the available credit of your credit card. We call this ‘deposit’.

Daily you can pay up to € 2.000 through a digital payment, Payment Initiation Service, app or My ING transfer. You can change this daily digital limit yourself up to a higher amount.

Please increase your limit on time, as it takes 4 hours for your higher limit to take effect. And, to prevent possible misuse, it is good to choose an end date.
