To pay with your watch, first open the Google Wallet app on your smartwatch. Then choose the card you want to pay with. And keep the screen of your watch at the ATM. And done!

If the payment is successful, you will hear a sound or the smartwatch will vibrate.

In case of a network error, check whether...

- you have an internet connection
- the Bluetooth connection is on on your phone and your smartwatch
- and whether your phone and your smartwatch are close to each other while activating.

Then try adding the debit card again.

If the screen lock of your smartwatch is removed, all payment cards will be removed from the Google Wallet for security reasons. Before adding a new debit card, the screen lock must be set.

The steps differ depending on the version of your smartwatch operating system. Check which version your smartwatch has.

WearOS - version 3.0 

  1. Open the Google Wallet app . 
  2. Swipe to the debit card you want to use as your default debit card. 
  3. Tap the debit card 'Set as default for contactless payments'. 

WearOS-version 2.0 

  1. Open the Google Wallet app. 
  2. Swipe to the debit card you want to use as your default card. 
  3. Tap the card. 
  4. Swipe up from the bottom over 'More'. 
  5. Tap 'Set as Default Card'.

When you want to activate Google Pay directly from your Google Smartwatch, verification in the ING App is always required.

  1. Open the ING App and tap "Service" in the bottom right corner.
  2. Scroll to "Self service" and tap "Your app settings", then "Google Pay".
  3. Select the debit card you want to verify and tap "Next".
  4. On the screen, in a blue box, click "Multiple cards are waiting for activation. Activate now". Tap the button and wait for the next page to load. This may take about 10 seconds.
  5. Then click "Activate" and afterwards "Confirm".
  6. Your ING card is now in the Google Wallet on your Smartwatch!
