This is on the condition that you always have sufficient funds in your current account so the creditor can collect the payment.</p><p>If you don&apos;t have enough money in your current account, we’ll try to make the payment during another four business days. If a weekend or public holiday falls in that period, we won’t count those, but we will try to make the payment on those days. Tip: Did you know that many companies give a discount if you pay by direct debit?</p>"}},{"title":"How to give your authorisation","richBody":{"value":"<p>To pay by direct debit, complete, sign and return the direct debit mandate form supplied by the creditor. You can also authorise a direct debit online if the creditor offers that option. You’ll then be redirected from the creditor&apos;s website to My ING, where you’ll give your authorisation.</p>"}},{"title":"How do I change or cancel a direct debit mandate?","richBody":{"value":"<p>If you’ve authorised a company to collect a payment from your account automatically, you can change or cancel your mandate by submitting a written request to that company. Contact the company to discuss the best way to do that.</p><p>You can also use the <a href=\"https://www.betaalvereniging.nl/wp-content/uploads/Stoplichtkaarten-doorlopende-machtiging.pdf\">mandate cancellation</a> form to stop the direct debit. Complete the form and send it to the company (not ING). It’s a good idea to keep a copy for your records. And it&apos;s important to ask for confirmation that your mandate has been cancelled.</p>"}},{"title":"Set maximum amount","richBody":{"value":"<p>You can also set a maximum amount for a direct debit to make sure the creditor will never collect more than that. You’ll set this limit per mandate.</p><p>How it works</p><ol><li>Go to your direct debits.</li><li>Select the right current account.</li><li>Scroll down to ‘Direct debit authorisation’. Select the creditor to view the existing mandate(s). In the mandate itself, select &apos;Set maximum amount&apos;.</li><li>A pop-up screen will appear. Check the information and move the slider to the right at the bottom. Then enter the maximum amount. Confirm with ‘Save’.</li><li>The maximum amount has now been set. You can refuse, get a refund, block and unblock a direct debit. To change or cancel a direct debit, please contact the company to whom the payment is due.
