With purchase protection, the products that you pay for with your credit card are insured against theft, loss and damage.
Suppose that someone steals the nice jacket that you recently bought with your Credit card or Platinum card. If it was stolen within 365 days after you made the purchase, it’s covered by purchase protection.
You’ll need to prove that you used your card for the purchase. And you’ll need to prove that your jacket was stolen. The insurer will compensate you for the amount on the purchase receipt. There is a policy excess of €50, though. That will be deducted from the amount paid out under the insurance.

A deductible of €50 applies per insured event. The insurance only covers purchases intended for private use and not for business use.
You fill in the claim form and send it back signed to Allianz (the Insurer). Also, include the police report, the proof of declaration, the receipt(s) of the purchased items, and the account statement showing the purchase with the claim form. This allows the insurer to see the amount of the damage.
