The solar power that you do not use yourself is returned to the electricity grid. Do you have an energy contract with feed-in costs? Then consider: the more solar power you use yourself, the less feed-in costs you pay.

As of 1 January 2027, solar panel owners will no longer be allowed to net. So the ability to offset the returned power from the summer with the used power in the winter disappears. Milieu Centraal expects that the feed-in costs that you pay to the energy company will continue to exist after the abolition of the netting scheme, but will decrease.
