The more you repay, the greater the chance that your mortgage rate can come down because of a lower loan-to-value ratio. If you have <a data-type=\"internal\" href=\"/en/personal/mortgage\">a mortgage</a> without the Dutch National Mortgage Guarantee and/or with a variable mortgage rate, you may qualify for a lower rate. </span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>As an additional service to you, we will from now on check every month whether your mortgage rate can come down. If it can, because repayments have improved your loan-to-value ratio, we will let you know. The new lower rate will then take effect from the first day of the next month. When you upgrade your energy label during your fixed-rate period, by installing energy-efficiency measures for example, ING will automatically change your mortgage rate accordingly. The rates in the proposal may be lower than your current mortgage rate.</span></span></span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-GB\" dir=\"ltr\"><span><span>Is there any other way you could get your mortgage rate down? There probably is.
