For 2026 this is set at 0.4% of the amount borrowed on your mortgage. </span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span>If you move house, you cannot transfer the NHG to your new property. So if you want an NHG on your new mortgage, you have to pay the mortgage guarantee fee again.</span></span></span></li><li><span><span><span>Not all lenders offer mortgages with NHG. This limits your freedom of choice.
