However, you must continue to make your monthly repayments. The repayment amount will stay the same. </p><p>Making extra payments can reduce the overall interest you&apos;ll pay. Here&apos;s how it works: your monthly repayment consists of a sum plus interest. The sum you pay lowers your debt; the interest is the cost you pay for your loan. Extra payments reduce your debt, which means the overall interest will reduce too. This will save you money in the long run. </p>"}},{"componentType":"sectionTitle","title":"How to make extra payments"},{"componentType":"paragraph","richBody":{"value":"<p>If your ING current account is linked to your loan, here&apos;s how to make extra payments:</p><ul><li>Go to My ING or open the mobile banking app. Select your loan</li><li>Select ‘Make extra payment’ </li><li>Enter how much you&apos;d like to pay</li><li>Confirm the order </li></ul><p>If you have multiple loans, you can select the loan you&apos;d like to make an extra payment to on the ‘Transfer’ screen.</p><p>If the current account you&apos;d like to use isn&apos;t linked to the loan, you can pay in the same way as paying a bill or a person: </p><ul><li><p>Log in in and select ‘Transfer’</p></li><li><p>If you have multiple current accounts, you&apos;ll need to first select the current account you&apos;d like to use for the extra payment</p></li><li><p>Enter this recipient: ING Bank N.V. Loans</p></li><li><p>Enter this account number: NL58 INGB 0003 4780 75</p></li><li><p>Enter how much you&apos;d like to pay</p></li><li><p>Only enter the loan&apos;s contract number in the description. Don&apos;t add any periods, spaces or dashes</p></li><li><p>Select ‘Send’ and confirm the order</p></li></ul><p>All done!
