That means you&apos;ll have less to spend.  </li><li>You’ll be charged interest if you use your overdraft. Avoid overdrawing your account unnecessarily or for a long period of time, even if it’s within the limit. One way to do that is by spending less in the months after that. Suppose you’re €500 overdrawn at the end of a month. Then you receive your salary of €1.500. To avoid being overdrawn after that, make sure you don&apos;t spend more than €1.000.  </li><li>If you have sufficient savings, you can also transfer some of that to your current account.</li></ul>"},"title":"What are the risks of ING Overdraft?"},{"richBody":{"value":"<p>Certain amounts are debited from your current account, such as credit card transactions, overdraft interest and/or account package fees. If you do not have sufficient available funds in your account, this may cause you to exceed your overdraft limit, resulting in an unauthorised overdraft. You must repay the excess amount immediately. Since October 2024, you no longer pay interest on an unauthorised overdraft (although you still pay interest on any amount within your agreed limit).</p><p>If you do not repay the unauthorised overdraft within one month, we may terminate your ING Overdraft. This means that the entire negative balance on your current account will become an unauthorised overdraft.</p><p>Example: You have an overdraft limit of €500, but your account is overdrawn by €550. If you do not bring the balance back within your €500 limit within one month, we will terminate your ING Overdraft. You will then no longer have an overdraft facility, and the entire negative balance on your current account will be unauthorised.</p><p>If you exceed your overdraft limit by €250 or more, we will report this payment arrears to the BKR. These reports are known as negative BKR-registrations. A negative BKR-registration may have adverse consequences if, for example, you wish to borrow money again or apply for a mortgage. This is also known as the cost of borrowing (or cost of credit). The maximum cost of borrowing is the maximum interest that we can charge you for borrowing money. At 1 January 2026, the maximum cost of borrowing is 12%. This is set by the government. The maximum cost of borrowing consists of the variable statutory interest plus a maximum surcharge. The maximum surcharge has been set by the government at a structural level of 8%. As the statutory interest rate decreased from 6% to 4% on 1 January 2026, the maximum cost of borrowing automatically decreased from 14% to 12%. The statutory interest rate is linked to the market interest rate trend. After that, we assess whether your income is sufficient to maintain your limit based on an income check on the linked account. At the end of each day, we’ll calculate how much interest you pay that day. On the first day of the month, we’ll add up the daily interest that we’ve calculated from the previous month and charge that to your current account.  </p><p><strong>ING Gofee and annual percentage rate  </strong></p><p>Some example calculations of interest and costs for different amounts of credit are given below. The monthly payment is the interest charged if you have been in overdraft up to your limit for the whole month. The annual percentage rate comprises the interest and the fee for ING Go of €4,00 per month. This interest rate is variable and equals the maximum cost of borrowing minus 0.1%. Subject to change.  </p></li><li><p><strong>Monthly payment </strong></p><p>This is the monthly mandatory payment if you’ve used the total amount of credit during the whole month. With ING Overdraft, the monthly payment consists of interest only. You don’t have to pay back your overdraft every month, but you do need to make sure that you have a credit balance on your current account for one full day every three months. You only pay interest on the overdrawn amount. The monthly payment is collected from your account after the end of the month. </p></li><li><strong>Term </strong><br />The duration of the agreement is indefinite.</li><li><strong>ING Go fee (per month) </strong><br />These are the fees that, in addition to the interest, form part of the total cost of the credit. You need a current account (Betaalrekening) at ING to be able to use this credit. A current account is part of a package. The fee for ING Go (including debit card) is shown here. That’s the most common package. You pay this fee after the end of every month. There’s no fee for a student account (Studentenrekening); you won’t pay a package fee until your student account is converted into a current account (Betaalrekening). </li><li><p><strong>Annual percentage rate (APR) </strong></p><p>This is the interest and other charges you pay for the credit, expressed as an annual percentage of the total amount of credit. The fee for a current account is the same for each amount of credit. As a result, the annual percentage rate is lower if the amount of credit is higher.
