There are costs linked to investing. The costs are divided into service costs and fund costs.
Service costs
You pay costs to ING for our service. Besides a possible base fee (a fixed amount), you pay a service fee. The level of the service fee depends on the service and the composition and size of your portfolio. The base fee and service fee are collected by ING at the end of each quarter. Currency costs may apply when converting transactions in foreign currencies.
There are also external costs. These are the difference between the buy or sell price (this difference is also called the bid‑ask spread). External trading costs do not apply to investment funds.
In addition, transaction tax may apply to a transaction. In some countries you pay transaction tax when buying or selling securities.
Fund costs
You pay fund costs to the fund manager for managing the funds in which you invest. The manager of an investment fund or index tracker charges a fee for management, the transaction costs within the fund and any entry or exit costs. These costs differ per investment fund or index tracker and are already included in the price of the fund.
