The SDG Impact strategy invests in companies and organisations whose products or activities contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. The SDGs, also called Sustainable Development Goals, are seventeen goals to make the world a better place by addressing issues such as poverty, education and the climate crisis.
ING has grouped the SDGs into three main themes: people, environment and society. The investment strategy aims to contribute to each of these three themes. Investments (Dutch only) are selected that make a positive contribution to, for example, good health and well-being (people), climate action (environment) and responsible consumption and production (society). Companies that, through their activities or behaviour, contribute negatively to any of the SDGs are excluded. For example, producers of weapons, tobacco and fossil fuels.

Our investment experts at the ING Investment Office put these funds together with care. For this, they use the ING Impact investing policy. When selecting shares, bonds and investment funds for the portfolio, they focus on the positive contributions that companies are expected to make to one or more of the SDGs.
