You pay this fee to the fund manager for managing the investment fund. For bond funds, you pay an average of 0.4% of the total fund value. For equity funds, you can assume an average of 0.85%. The management fee is determined by the fund manager and deducted from the fund’s assets, which reduces the fund’s value.</li><li>Some investment funds also charge a performance fee. This is only applied when the fund performs well. This fee is also deducted from the fund’s assets. The performance fee is not included in the ongoing charges.</li><li>Entry and exit fees are almost never charged in the Netherlands. However, these fees do still appear in the cost overviews because in other countries they are charged more frequently. In the Netherlands, they are only applied if a fund risks becoming too large—because a fund can become unwieldy and jeopardize investment policy. In such cases, an entry fee may be used to discourage new investors.</li><li>The amount of the ongoing charges, management fee, performance fee, and entry or exit fees can be found for each investment fund or tracker in the Key Investor Information Document (KIID).
