Bart-jan has been a Portfolio Manager at the ING Investment Office only since March 2025, but is thoroughly seasoned when it comes to investing. He began his career in 1995 as an options trader, later moving on to become Senior Portfolio Manager at ING Investment Management. Entrepreneurship also appealed to him, and in 2000 he co-founded the online investment platform Fundix.nl. After this company was acquired by ING, Bart-jan held several product and marketing management roles within ING’s investment domain. Now that his children are studying, he has more time for his hobbies. In his free time, you’ll find him on his racing bike, on the tennis court, or enjoying one of the many cosy pubs in Haarlem with his wife.

When he’s not picking olives in his Italian olive grove, you can find him at the hockey pitch at weekends, coaching one of his children’s teams.

Philip studied International Financial Economics at the University of Amsterdam and subsequently completed the postgraduate VBA programme of the Association of Investment Analysts. In his free time, Philip can be found on the tennis court and is an avid birdwatcher.
