With the Cancellation module, you’re insured against the risk of having to cancel or cut short your trip due to unforeseen events. For example, if you, a family member, housemate, or close friend becomes seriously ill, has an accident, or passes away. It also covers situations such as involuntary job loss if you have a permanent contract, or if you suddenly have the opportunity to move into a new home. This module reimburses any booking costs you’ve already paid and cannot recover—such as those from your travel provider. Even a customized trip, where travel, accommodation, and local transport are booked separately, is covered.

Note: You add the Cancellation module as supplementary coverage to your ING Annual Travel Insurance. You can easily arrange this online via Mijn ING or the app.
It is also possible to take out the Cancellation Module separately. To do so, please contact us by phone at 020 22 888 88. If you want to insure a more expensive trip (more than € 5,000 per person per trip), please also contact us by phone. This applies to the short-term cancellation insurance. For the continuous cancellation insurance, the coverage is the same as the travel insurance—yourself, partner, and children. You cannot adjust this to a different travel group.

"}},{"title":"There is a negative travel advisory for my destination. What does this mean for my travel and cancellation insurance?","richBody":{"value":"If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a negative travel advisory, two situations are possible:
1. You want to cancel or cut your trip short. Your cancellation insurance does not provide coverage in this case. However, in many situations, you can turn to the Calamity Fund (Calamiteitenfonds) for assistance.
2. You still want to travel (for example, because you're going to a different region within the country).
Your travel insurance will then offer limited coverage. You are not covered for issues related to the negative travel advisory.
Example: A negative travel advisory has been issued due to a flood risk. If your belongings are damaged by the flooding, there is no coverage.
For regular damages, such as theft of your camera, coverage still applies.
