Why open a Dutch bank (Orange package) account at ING?
As an expat, having a local bank account is essential to start your life in the Netherlands smoothly. With ING you can:
Pay for essentials like rent, utilities (gas, water, electricity) and mobile phone
Receive your salary directly from your (new) employer
Open your bank account and use it right away - even before you arrive in the Netherlands. If you started, your application for a current account, without BSN (Dutch Tax Identification Number), provide us your Social Security Number. You have 90 days to provide us your BSN. Not providing BSN to ING within 90 days results in a blocked current account after which you have 30 days to provide BSN to ING. Didn't meet the additional 30-day deadline? Then we need to close your account.

If you have a residence permit card already then you should use your residence permit card for a smoother experience.
If you want to open a bank account with a passport outside the European Economic Area (EEA), you might require a valid MVV document* and MVV document check can take a couple of days. Check if your country requires an MVV here.
If you are onboarding with a Non-EEA passport, you accept that you need to provide your BSN and Dutch address within 90 days.
If you started without BSN (Dutch Tax Identification Number), provide us your Social Security Number. You have 90 days to provide us your BSN. You will receive a BSN Number when you register at the municipality. Everyone who moves to the Netherlands and plans to stay longer than four months is required to register themselves at the municipality within the first 5 days after arrival.
While opening an account, you should provide your current address as your residential/home address if you haven’t resided in the Netherlands officially yet.
*What is an MVV? The MVV is an entry visa intended for persons who want to stay in the Netherlands for more than 90 days. The MVV is a visa sticker (Type D) that is placed in your passport by the Dutch embassy or the Dutch consulate in the country you reside. With an MVV you can travel to the Netherlands and pick up your residence permit.

Started without BSN? Then you have 90 days to provide us your BSN
Then you have another 30 days to still do so (with a temporary block on the account).
