If you want to open the account in the name of your minor child, your child first needs a children’s or youth account. Then, as a parent or representative, you can open the investment account from your own ING App or My ING. With Self Invest, you can choose sustainable funds and trackers yourself, for example by searching for “ESG” or “sustainable”.

What is the difference between saving and investing?
The main differences are expected return and risk. With saving, you take virtually no risk, but the return is lower and may be negative because of inflation. With investing, you have the opportunity to earn a higher return, but you also run the risk of losing some or all of your deposit. It is wise to build up a savings buffer before you start investing.

What is a good time to start investing?
It is not possible to determine the right entry point. Our tip is to invest for the long term and spread your entry points, for example by depositing a fixed amount every month. That way, you buy both at higher and lower prices and spread the risk.

Statements and administration

Where can I find my annual statement?
You can find your annual statements and the special “Statement for reporting actual return” for tax years 2017 to 2025 in My ING and in the ING App under Documents.

In the ING App, first tap the bell icon in the top right.
