Also, enter their date of birth and last name. When you can&apos;t find the person by IBAN, try using their postal code + house number or their email address as known by ING.</li><li>If you make a typo, the person will not be found. The correct last name is on the debit card of the person to be added (it&apos;s easiest to use the birth name).</li><li>Does the last name have prefixes? Leave them out or enter them completely. (For example: &quot;van der Sluis&quot; should be entered as &quot;Sluis&quot; or &quot;van der Sluis&quot; and not &quot;vd Sluis&quot;).</li><li>Has the new co-account holder just become a customer via the ING App? Please try again the next day. It may take a day for them to become visible. To add an account holder, you must first end the authorisation yourself. After that, you can request to modify the account. Once the modification is complete, you can add an authorised person again. The new co-account holder must approve this. More information can be found on the <a href=\"http://www.ing.nl/en/personal/customer-service/change-personal-details/manage-banking-authorisation\">authorisation page</a>.</li><li>Both account holders can access a positive balance, and in the case of a negative balance, the debt can be recovered from both account holders. Both are jointly liable. </li><li>For a joint account, both account holders receive a debit card. </li><li>For the co-account holder on a joint account, you pay a <a href=\"https://www.ing.nl/en/personal/payments/rates/payment-packages\">fee</a>. Do you have a Royal package (RoyaalPakket) or an Orange package extra (OranjePakket Extra)? You can apply for this directly <a href=\"https://www.ing.nl/en/personal/payments/bank-accounts/open-a-joint-account\">online</a>.</li><li>You can also authorise someone on your account. The authorised person can then make payments from your current account and perform actions on savings and investment products linked to this current account. The authorised person cannot apply for or change other products; only you as the account holder can do that. The current account will also remain in your name only.
