From October 2026, all webshops will gradually replace iDEAL with Wero. From the end of 2027, you will only be able to pay with Wero. iDEAL will no longer be used.

Wero payments cannot be approved with the ING Scanner. This can only be done in the ING App.

Good to know: You can keep banking in My ING as you normally do. Only logging in and approving Wero payments will be done via the ING App.

If you cannot or do not want to use the ING App, you cannot approve Wero payments. Often you can choose another payment method depending on the webshop, such as credit card, invoice, or bank transfer.

Wero will become the new standard for online payments in the Netherlands and beyond. It will be usable in multiple European countries.

From October 2026, Wero payments with ING must be approved in the ING App. The scanner will no longer work.

You cannot approve Wero payments. You must use an alternative payment method offered by the webshop.
