An estate account is a Dutch euro-denominated payment account without a credit facility or overdraft option. If the bankrupt entity already holds a payment account with ING, an additional business account can be opened as the estate account. If the bankrupt entity does not hold a payment account with ING, a new business account can be opened. The estate account is intended exclusively for the administration of a specific bankruptcy estate and may only be used by the trustee for that purpose. ING expects trustees to close the estate account as soon as it is no longer required.

By signing the form, you agree on behalf of the bankruptcy estate to the opening of an (additional) business account in the name of the bankrupt entity. Account name
The (additional) business account will be opened in the name of the bankrupt entity and will be registered as:
Trustee X q.q. Bankruptcy Y (maximum 35 characters available)
Existing business accounts
The bankrupt entity's existing business account(s) will remain in place. Access for the bankrupt entity and its representatives will be blocked. Existing procedures can be used to transfer positive balances to the estate account.
Identification
If you are not yet an ING retail customer and have not previously been identified by ING, the Garnishments & Bankruptcy Department will contact you by email with instructions on how to identify yourself as a trustee.
Mijn ING Zakelijk
ING will register you in its systems as the trustee of the bankruptcy estate. By signing the form, you agree to the application for Mijn ING Zakelijk, enabling you to access the account(s).

At present, these estate accounts can still be opened through the participating covenant banks. Preferably, you should use the bank that managed these estate accounts for you before 1 July 2022.

As a general rule, the estate account must be opened with the bankrupt customer's primary bank. If the primary bank does not offer estate accounts, the trustee may apply for an estate account with ING, provided that the bankruptcy declaration was issued by either the District Court of Rotterdam or the District Court of Zeeland-West-Brabant.
Another condition is that an estate account must not already have been opened with another bank in the Netherlands. In addition, the trustee is required to provide the bank with the information and answers necessary for ongoing customer due diligence and compliance checks.
