Want to get started with Direct Debit? With these 7 steps, you can manage the entire process: from applying for a Direct Debit Contract to processing your Direct Debit transactions.
To collect Direct Debits, you need a Direct Debit Contract with ING. With this contract, you can create and submit Direct Debit instructions to ING.
The contract includes, among other things, agreements on the frequency of Direct Debits and the conditions under which they are carried out.
To collect payments via direct debit, you need a valid mandate from your customer. You can obtain a mandate in two ways.
Using a mandate form (paper)
For a paper mandate, you may design your own mandate form as long as it meets the applicable requirements. You can also use the standard mandate form (the “traffic‑light” form). The requirements and the standard form can be found on our page about paper mandates.

Digital
Would you prefer to receive and register mandates digitally? This is possible via Incassomachtigen, ING’s digital mandate service (SEPA e‑Mandate). With this service, your customer issues a legally valid mandate online through internet banking. It is secure, fast and does not require a paper mandate form.

Send your pre-notification"},{"componentType":"paragraph","richBody":{"value":"Send your customer a pre-notification at least 14 days before you collect a direct debit. Include the amount and the debit date. In most cases, an invoice or another message you normally send is sufficient, but a separate pre-notification is also allowed. Have you agreed on a different timeframe with your customer? Then you can send the message at the agreed moment.

Done? Then submit the direct debit batch via your payment channel.
If you use Mijn ING Zakelijk, upload your batch as follows:
Go to ‘Opdrachten’, then ‘Incasso’s’, and click the ‘Upload incassobatch’ button.
You can submit the batch up to two working days before the desired execution date.
Good to know: a direct debit batch can only be executed on a working day.
Once you have uploaded a batch and it has been approved, you can send it from the send list. Is the batch not visible there? Then it likely contains errors and needs to be corrected first. You can only send a batch if you are a legal representative or authorised to approve payments.

The description will show the batch reference you selected (Payment Information Identification).
