Only with your consent, we share encrypted identifiers with third parties, like social media platforms. We do this to show a relevant advertisement on your personal page on social media or in your search results of a search engine. To do so, we share your encrypted email address/phone number or a cookie ID with these platforms, so they can check whether you have an account there. These platforms may also place cookies on our website pages for this purpose, if you agree to this.
We, as ING, decide what data we share with third parties like Google and Meta. We share specific behaviour on our websites, for example what buttons you click on ing.nl. We share this data via a unique cookie ID or encrypted email address and phone number with Google or Meta. By sharing this data, we are able to measure if our marketing campaigns on Meta and Google are successful or not. We link your unique cookie ID to an ad and thereby track whether the ad you clicked on was relevant to you. We may also instruct Google and Meta to search their platforms for people with similar interests to you and show them an advert from ING. This way, we can advertise better and more personally.
The only data we share with third parties, is your unique cookie ID or encrypted email address/phone number in combination with your click data. We share no other personal data with (social media) platforms. For example, when filling in an ING calculator, we only shared the fact that you filled it in, but not the income data you filled in.
